d20 Calculator app good for
Works okay, but I have a couple of significant complaints: for one, it only runs in landscape mode, so I constantly have to rotate my iPad; also, theres no way to make a calculation like 4d8 x 1.5, which is pretty common in certain games. Other than that it beats counting pips for large rolls.
I strongly love this app, as it is utilitarian, and sleek in design. It makes rolling up a character or NPC, damage or anything else easy, with access to saving roll sets, and different themes to set the mood. However, after trying to purchase the full app for the iPad, the app started crashing repeatedly; the longest Ive been able to keep it open was two seconds. After attempting to fix the problem repeatedly, I downloaded it to my phone. It has no problems on my phone, but continues to be a problem on my iPad. I enjoy this app, and hope that with the next update, the problem gets fixed!
Good design, easy to use, stable and nice features (e.g. custom dices with dX function)
Other than not rotating to match iPad orientation, a well built and easy to use dice roller.
This has to be the best dice app Ive used so far. Its elegant and simple, but robust and useful.
Two suggestions I would have:
A. Rotating orientation on iPad.
B. Storing the results of your past rolls, not just the dice rolled.
(C. Potentially the ability to keep higher or keep lower dice. Its a new mechanic in D&D 5e so the demand is there.)
Still, this is my dice app of choice.
I use and love all of your apps, the only thing I dont like is the lack of support for other RPGs.
You could add a "Custom System" sheet creation, in which users can create their own sheet with rules they like.
Some bad moments
If youre going to use a digital dice roller rather than actual dice, or if youre going to be doing crazy dice math... (GURPS, Im looking at you) Then this is your go to app, and the pro version is definitely worth the money to support a developer who obviously put plenty of love and creativity into this app.
Pros: No frills. Its simple and it just works. You can also save you most common rolls, which makes it really easy to use.
Cons: Wish I could use it in portrait mode…
This is an amazing app. The only wish I could muster for it would be a saved roll and that rolls result. That way one could use this app to generate stats for whatever the reason and have the results of said roll saved.
Best roller Ive ever used. Its actually random, It looks nice and works well. I plan on using it for a long time
Perfect dice calculator. Calculating rolls is a breeze, and saving common rolls makes it even easier. I love that it also shows the result of each die, not just a total. Overall I think its a great app, worth the $0.99 upgrade. I wont use any other app to calculate rolls.
This app is almost ideal - there is only one thing missing and no workaround to get to it.
Vulnerable to...
It is a quality that adds 50% damage to what has actually been rolled. Since I cant add a decimal into an equation such as 5d6*1.5 Im not able to make this calculation in the app. One possible remedy is to add another field next to half damage for this.
Otherwise, this so far is a great app!
